WHAT IS AHA BHA PHA?
What is AHA BHA PHA? And how does it work?
AHA BHA PHA refers to the three hydroxy acids that are usually found in nature (Alpha Hydroxy acids, Beta Hydroxy Acids, and Poly Hydroxy acids)✨
✅Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA)✅
AHA is responsible for the exfoliation of the skin. If the concentration is high, it may cause skin irritation, so be careful as it might cause redness and skin irritation. Since AHA can smoothen the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, they are perfect for people with dry skin prone to aging, wrinkles and fine lines.
✅Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA)✅
BHA can be more irritating and less moisturizing than AHA because it removes sebum and oil from the skin. It penetrates deep into the skin which means you get a thorough cleaning of pores. BHA can also cause some skin redness and irritation so it is advised to be careful when using on sensitive skin.
✅Poly Hydroxy Acid (PHA)✅
PHA is not much different from the AHA, in terms of both the molecular structure and mechanism of action. And it also shares the hydrating properties of AHA. However, it is more gentle than both AHA and BHA, which makes PHA more suitable for those with sensitive skin that could react to the products that contain AHA or BHA. For instance, the PHA is a safe option for those with eczema or rosacea.
